A review of size-dependent continuum mechanics models for micro- and nano-structures

Recently, the mechanical behavior of micro-/nano-structures has sparked an ongoing debate, which leads to a fundamental question: what steps can be taken investigate characteristics these structures, and characterize their performance? From standpoint non-classical materials, size-dependent theories considered analyze behavior. The application classical in investigation small-scale structures lead inaccurate results. Many studies have been published past few years, continuum mechanics models used with different geometry such as rods, tubes, beams, plates, shells. systems under loading – resulting vibration, wave propagation, bending, buckling phenomena is focus review covered this work. present objective provide detailed survey most significant literature on micro-/nano-structures, thus orient researchers future field research.
